Night on the Town : December 20, 2005 We all pitched in and rented a limo to surprise Monika and Adam. This was a sort of meet and greet for Monika's bridal party. Oklahoma 2007 : Broken Bow, Oklahoma November 2-5, 2007 This year instead of Arkansas (since Lake Catherine cancelled my frickin' reservation without my permission) we went to Broken Bow, Oklahoma. We stayed in an awesome private cabin near Beaver's Bend State Park and Lake Broken Bow.

Las Vegas 2007 : May 16-20, 2007 Once again we went to Vegas for our anniversary, hoping to hit it big on our 7th. We didn't win much but we did have a blast. Adam and Stephanie went too and made it one of the best trips ever. We went non-stop for 4 days and pretty much did it all. But, you won't here about it here...since you know the motto...What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. :)

Nike+ Virtual Half Marathon : October 21, 2007 My first half marathon was a "virtual" half marathon sponsored by Nike. Monika mapped out a route on Google, and Monika, Marlene and I met at the Trinity Trail at 7AM on Sunday, October 21 for a 13.1 mile out and back run along the Trinity. We finished in 2 hours 45 minutes averaging about a 12:30 min/mile. Not bad considering the entire 6.5 miles back we were facing a strong headwind. And when I say strong I mean really strong. We had sustained winds of 25mph and gusts up to 33mph. Adam and Dylan were there at miles 4 and 8 with drinks and food. Richard, Maria and Laura showed up at around mile 5, to cheer us on and give us water too. Everyone met us at the finish line where Tim also joined the group. Have I mentioned I have the best friends ever. :)

Vineyard Run : September 30, 2006 - Time for 5K number 2. This time I chose the Vineyard Run in Grapevine. I was somewhat disappointed with the run because I had hoped for some nice scenery. Most of it was up and back again on a city street. I finished this race in 39:31. Not exactly what I had hoped for, but hey, I'm still running. 10K here I come.

Julie's 29th Birthday Bonanza : March 4-10, 2007 So it started like this...we saw 30 Seconds to Mars was coming to Nokia Theater in Fort Worth close to my birthday, but all the good seats were gone. So we decided to go see them in San Antonio. What started as a 1 night trip to see a show, ended up being a 3 night party which continued once we returned to Fort Worth. We got there on Sunday. Checked into the Hotel Havana Inn on the Riverwalk and then went to the AT&T Center to see 30 Seconds to Mars kick ass again. We got up, went to UTSA to check out how much has changed. Then we met up with Adam and Stephanie for dinner on the Riverwalk. From there we went to a couple of bars until closing time. We had so much fun that even though we were supposed to come home the next day, we decided to stay. So we found a hotel for another night and went out with Adam and Stephanie again and had a blast. We got back home and Dylan headed off to Hunt for his weekend with the boys and I went out with Richaria and Laura to the Fox and the Hound for another night of debauchery. All in all, it was the BEST birthday week EVER!!!

Texas State Fair 2006 : October 6, 2006 - Ahhhh, the smell of fried food and livestock is in the air. It's time for the Texas State Fair. Who could resist such complementary smells? We couldn't. So we braved the crowds of the Texas/OU game (Yay Longhorns) and made our way to the land of Funnel Cakes and Fried Coke. Yes, fried Coke. And we tried it. It sucked. Oh well, live and learn.
